BANGKOK, 21 April 2011 – The 2011 Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International House Ware Fair (BIG+BIH 2011) has already commenced at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC) with nearly 600 Thai and foreign companies participating.
Commerce Minister Pornthiva Nakasai stated that the event has been widely accepted in the global arena as a trendsetter in creative designs. According to her, the event is the biggest in ASEAN, featuring goods from Taiwan, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar and Thailand.
There are 585 companies exhibiting their products in 1,563 booths covering over 40,000 square-meters of space in the BIG+BIH 2011. The fair carries the theme ‘Asian Inspire’ to reflect the spirit and oriental inspiration in the products and designs on display.
The minister expressed her hope that visitors will be enjoying the exhibition and choosing best-quality and internationally recognized creative lifestyle products, being offered at very reasonable prices.
About 500 foreign trade representatives are attending the event which reserves the first four days from 19 to 22 April for traders’ transactions. The fair is open to the general public from 23 to 24 April. Over 635.99 million baht is expected to be circulated during the exhibition with a total number of 100,000 visitors.
