“Blue Flag” fair kicks off at Commerce Ministry, to go on for 3 weeks

BANGKOK, 14 September 2013 “Blue Flag” fair has kicked off in front of the Commerce Ministry and will go on for 3 weeks. The Internal Trade Department expects 2 million eggs to be sold each day during the fair. 

Speaking after the opening of the Blue Flag fair, Director-General of the Internal Trade Department (DIT) Wiboonluk Ruamruk said the fair will be carried on for 3 weeks. She said consumers can purchase eggs at an average price of 3.3 baht per egg at the fair.

According to her, another Blue Flag fair has been opened at the Prachaniwet 1 Market which will go on for about a week, adding that all stores nationwide under the Internal Trade Department will sell chicken eggs at special prices. The director expects the number of eggs sold to reach 2 million a day.

In addition, she said there will be “Blue Flag” vehicles sent out to communities, so that locals are able to buy cooking oil, eggs, refined sugar, and other food products and necessities. These products are directly supplied by manufacturers and prices will be 20-40 percent lower than those selling in the market

The “Blue Flag” fair is being held at the Commerce Ministry every Tuesday and Friday.
