BANGKOK 6 October, 2011 – The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and the Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) will jointly launch a short film on Bangkok tourism and an exclusive contest for foreigners.
The short film will be broadcast in November at www.bangkok waiting for you.com and CNBC website, through which foreign business operators staying in Thailand will be invited to enter a contest to see who could design the best trip to the City of Angels. Competitors are required to post their itineraries on facebook or Twitter, which will be announced during the film broadcast.
The competitor whose trip receives the highest number of ‘like’ sign on facebook or whose trip receives most tweets will be the winner. The name of the winner will be announced in mid December. Awards include plane tickets, travel and hotel accommodations and a spa package.
The project is the latest bid by the BMA to persuade foreigners on business trip to spend extra days touring the capital.
In 2008 and 2010, Bangkok was voted the best tourism city in the world by Travel and Leisure magazine. It has also defended the title in 2011.
