BANGKOK, 10 July 2012 – Labor Minister Mr. Padermchai Sasomsap said the Cabinet has approved a pay raise for state enterprises employees, which will take effect in April onwards.
According to the Labor Minister, the new salary rates for temporary employees in any state enterprise organizations have been approved as follows: Those with a bachelor degree, numbering 31,224, will receive 15,000 baht per month. It is said that it will cost state enterprises up to 700 million baht more per year for employees to receive the new amount.
As for employees with qualifications lower than the bachelor level and whose incomes are lower than 9,000 baht, they will have their salaries increased to 9,000; costing their organizations another 250 million baht annually.
The Cabinet has also given a rate rise of 5% to those who earn less than 50,000 baht per month, totalling 203,284 people; whereas employees earning more than 50,000 baht, reportedly 68,442 people, will receive no raise.
