BANGKOK, 20 July 2013 The cabinet has agreed to extend the term of the diesel excise tax reduction for another month, until August 31.
Speaking after a cabinet meeting, Deputy Government Spokesperson Pakdeeharn Himathongkham said as diesel excise tax reduction was scheduled to end on July 31, the cabinet meeting has given a green light to the extension of the tax reduction for one more month or until August 31st.
The cabinet also gave its approval to 60 development projects aimed at uplifting the north central part of Thailand, with a budget of 73.7 billion baht.
The cabinet meeting also appointed Soonchai Kumnoonsate as Governor of Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT).
The deputy spokesperson further revealed that the next special cabinet meeting will be held in September, also in the north central area, while the one after that will be held in the south of Thailand, scheduled for November.
