BANGKOK, 12 August 2011 – Central Lat Phrao Shopping Complex will reopen on 28 August 2011 after it has been closed for renovation several months ago, according to Central Pattana Group (CPN).
CPN Senior Executive Vice President for Finance, Accounting and Property Management Naris Choeyklin stated that the renovation is progressing very well, and the shopping complex is expected to be completed and ready to open again on 28 August.
The renovation has added 9,000 square-metres to the space for retail businesses, raising the total area accommodating traders as well as shoppers inside the mall to 40,000 square-metres. The CPN will increase space rental fee by 15%, which Mr Naris said is normal for a renovated shopping complex.
The CPN expects to see more shoppers visiting Central Lat Phrao because more leading brands are opening their outlets. The company hopes to breakeven within two years after spending over four billion baht to renovate the shopping complex.
As for the latter half of the year, the CPN will open Central Rama IX and Central Phitsanulok after it earlier opened Central Chiang Rai in March 2011. And in 2012 the company will open two more branches in Surat Thani and Udon Thani provinces.
