UBON RATCHATHANI, 17 September 2014 – Ubon Ratchathani governor Serm Chainarong has recently attended a meeting at the Customs checkpoint in the Chong Mek border-trade area to deal with street vendors whose stalls obstruct traffic.

The Chong Mek Municipality has already notified the vendors about the problem and requested that they set up their stands only in designated areas on the footpath in order to prevent them from occupying the roadside areas.

The Chong Mek authorities will, after the street vendors move out, reorganize the pavement areas in a bid to let traffic flow smoothly and to improve the landscape within the Chong Mek District to enhance the image of the province.
