BANGKOK, 17 September 2013 The Ministry of Commerce is preparing to organize the OTOP Select 2013 fair during September 24-26 in a bid to showcase top local products from across Thailand.

Permanent Secretary for Commerce Watchari Vimuktayon said the fair is part of the marketing strategies for OTOP products as it helps exhibit award-winning locally-sourced products which include handicrafts and handmade goods.

Workshops and seminars on tips to increase Thai businesses’ competitiveness abroad and business matchmaking sessions will be held. Household goods including cooking oil, eggs and sugar are also slated to be sold at discounted prices.

The OTOP Select fair, aimed to help stimulate private consumption and drive the local economy, will be open to the public during September 24-26 from 8AM to 5PM at the Commerce Ministry.
