BANGKOK, 7 Dec 2013, – The Commerce Ministry is prepared to organize a gift festival, an event offering goods at discount prices, aimed at reducing the public’s burdens and stimulating the nation’s economy as the year is drawing to a close.
According to Deputy Commerce Minister Yanyong Phuangrach, his ministry has instructed related agencies under the ministry to coordinate with vendors, informing and inviting them to join the ministry’s campaign.
He said the vendors would consist of OTOP producers and gift exporters as well as retailers. According to the Deputy Commerce Minister, the program would offer goods and New Year’s gifts at lower-than-market prices. It is the ministry’s bid to ease the burden of the public during the New Year period and to promote spending before 2013 wraps up.
