Commerce Ministry pushing forward online trading industry

BANGKOK, 1 August 2013 The Commerce Ministry is now focusing on online trading, giving the “DBD Verified” logo to 40 Thai online business operators with an aim to lift the standard of the country’s e-Commerce business. 

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the DBD e-Commerce Day 2013, Deputy Commerce Minister Natthawutthi Saikuar said he has entrusted the Department of Business Development (DBD) to accelerate growth in the e-Commerce sector, making it on par with the international standard. The DBD will be helping e-Commerce business operators find new markets as well as help reduce their operating cost.

The deputy minister also presented the DBD Verified logo to 40 online business traders who have strictly followed e-Commerce rules on quality control set by the DBD. These 40 websites have been inspected by the DBD-appointed committee and won recognition for their trustworthiness and quality.

The DBD e-Commerce Day is an annual event that promotes and pushes forward the e-Commerce businesses. It is organized under the cooperation of both the government and private sectors.
