BANGKOK 4 September 2011 – The Ministry of Commerce will convene a meeting with commodity producers tomorrow to discuss the current operating costs.

According to Deputy Commerce Minister Phum Sarapol, around 200 operators of various industries will update the Ministry of the new production costs following the cuts in oil prices.

The Ministry will use the result of the meeting to decide whether the operators are ready to adjust their product prices.

Meanwhile, the Department of Internal Trade is preparing to submit its study on the impact of high living costs and its plans to help cushion the effect of an increase in prices of some consumer products.
