MUKDAHAN 30 April 2014 — Mukdahan’s Department of Skill Development, in cooperation with the Sawanaket district, has held a skill development program for Lao PDR citizens living in the province.
The objective of the program is to prepare the province’s local workforce for the advent of the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) 2015. Sorasit Rithsorakrai, the Mukdahan’s Deputy Governor, presided over the event.
The program consists of 3 vocational training courses: electrical wiring, electrical welding, and air conditioner repairing. Each class comprises 20 trainees, totaling 60 altogether.
The training provided is part of the Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs’ attempt to ready the Mukdahan’s workforce for the upcoming 2015 AEC. Moreover, providing training for alien workers will give local officials a chance to build strong relationship with their staff and the Lao PDR government.
