BANGKOK, 23 July 2013 The Department of International Trade Promotion expects to see Thai franchise businesses in the ASEAN region grow by 20-30 percent this year.
Director General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) Srirat Rastapana has said the DITP is keen on supporting and developing Thai franchise businesses, which have a high tendency for expansion, especially when the ASEAN Economic Community is formed in 2015.
According to her, the 3 most popular Thai franchise businesses expected to see a continuous growth include restaurants, bakery and beverages, and accessories; given the Asean’s high rate of economic growth. She also cited Indonesia as an example, which has seen at least a 6 percent increase in its economy in the past few years.
Lastly, the Director-General predicted that the Thai franchise businesses would see around 168 billion baht cash flow this year, a year-on-year increase of 20-30 percent.
