BANGKOK, 23 December 2013 The Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP) says Thailand will not see a negative growth in its export next year despite political uncertainty.
According to Nuntawan Sakuntanaga, Director General of the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), it is very unlikely that the ongoing political protests will drag on until the middle of next year given that 7 private organizations have been trying to act as mediators in settling the differences between the government and the protesters.
The director does not believe Thai export will see a negative growth in the first quarter of 2014, adding that the Commerce Ministry and the Finance Ministry have already informed Thailand’s trading partners of the current situation.
According to her, product deliveries must be made on time in order for Thailand to maintain foreign buyers’ confidence
