BANGKOK, 18 October 2011 -The Flood Relief Operation Center revealed the 3 major energy providers, namely the Metropolitan Electricity Authority (MEA), the Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA) and the Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) will soon meet to find solutions to energy crisis in flood affected areas.
According to Spokesperson of the Energy Ministry Mr. Patchara Nariptapan, the MEA, PEA and ERC will formulate a plan that will help people and businesses in flood ravaged areas cope with the lack of electricity.
The Energy Ministry has instructed the electricity related agencies to warn residents in inundated areas about danger relevant to electricity especially when power poles or electrical appliances are submerged in the flood water. The Energy Ministry has also set up more rescue centers in the flood torn Pathum Thani province to help as many flood victims as possible.
