BANGKOK, 12 May 2013 An energy expert believes fuel prices will remain stable next week.
Energy expert Manoon Siriwan said an increase in retail prices of fuels in Thailand is unlikely due to steady global crude oil prices.
Given there in nothing to be concerned for in the factors affecting the economic situation as well as the high U.S. crude oil inventories, it is believed that a benchmark for crude oil in the Singapore market and in Thailand will rather decline or remain stable.
The energy expert also expressed agreement with the government’s move to increase the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) for household use to reflect true production cost.
The LPG price hike will be effective on June 1. The move has been delayed for 2 month because the survey on the effects of price adjustment for low-income earners and street venders has yet to be completed.
