BANGKOK, 9 June 2011 -The Department of Export Promotion’s Director – General Ms. Nantawan Sakultanak said the European Union (EU)’s debts will not hamper Thai exports to Europe.
According to Ms. Nantawan, the Department is targeting a 15% increase in export this year worldwide with 10% higher to the EU. That amount is said to be 20.177 billion USD in value. The Director-General has advised Thai exporters to trade with countries with reputable financial credibility while also saying that they could aim for new export target if their products are of good quality and the logistic system is effective.
Ms. Nantawan said information on new markets was also important for exporters and that the Department would launch Export Clinic, with trade representatives from 65 countries worldwide providing market information of their host countries to Thai exporters.
