NAKHON SI THAMMARAT, 11 June 2014 -The Provincial Electricity Authority Area 2 (South) in Nakhon Si Thammarat has opened a facilitation service center to operate during the period June 13th to July 20th, 2014 during which the natural gas pipeline in JDA is closed for maintenance.
PEA Area 2 (South) Director Wara Janjao has opened the facilitation service center to provide assistance during the closure for maintenance of the natural gas pipeline at the Joint Development Area (JDA), for a period of 28 days. The Jana power plant in Song Khla province will be affected by this closure as it will lack its normal supply of natural gas as fuel to generate around 710 Megawatts of power out of the overall amount of 2,316 Megawatts used across the South.
The PEA Area 2 has rehearsed its services and prepared plans to handle any critical development. In addition, it has prepared officers, transportation and equipment to ensure ample electricity transmission. However, the public has been advised to use electricity economically or avoid power use during peak times, which are 13.30 – 15.30 hours and 18.30 – 22.30 hours during those 28 days from 13th June.
