BANGKOK, 13 November 2013 The Finance Ministry is stepping up national tax collection efficiency by supporting its three departments responsible for levy and collection of all direct taxes to cooperate in the prevention of tax frauds, evasion and avoidance.
Deputy Finance Ministers Tanusak Lek-uthai and Benja Louichareon today witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding to that effect by the Customs Department, the Excise Department, and the Revenue Department. The move follows an instruction by Finance Minister Kittiratt Na-Ranong who wanted closer contacts and integrated cooperation among the three agencies, especially in their management and service.
Under the agreement, the 3 departments will work together towards an integrated data system as well as in finding evidence and closing all loopholes that could lead to tax evasion, tax avoidance, and tax frauds.
