Five central provinces get THB100 mn each to boost infrastructure

BANGKOK, 31 March 2013 The Cabinet has approved a budget of 100 million baht for each of the five provinces in the mid-central region for infrastructural development. 

Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said on Sunday after a mobile Cabinet meeting in Chachoengsao that the five provinces would spend their respective 100-million baht budgets to develop themselves in line with the national strategy and the provincial cluster development plan. At today’s meeting, the Cabinet also nodded to another 100-million baht budget for the five mid-central provinces for general development.

The Prime Minister said the government wanted to see the mid-central provinces improve their transport, logistics, green industries as well as eco- and cultural tourism. As for other projects which the five provinces were seeking financial support from sources outside the annual budget, the Prime Minister said the government would work on details of those projects before submitting them to the Bureau of the Budget for sources of allocations.
