BANGKOK, Feb 10 – The state-owned Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) will join hands with the private sector to set up five new industrial estates in the eastern provinces to cope with the country’s industrial expansion.
IEAT president Vitoon Simachokedee said the five estates, which will be wholly invested and developed by the private sector, will cover a total area of 8,719 rai (3,487 acres) and Bt309 billion in investment, create at least 120,000 jobs, and contribute to growth in related industries.
Four of the five projects are located in the seaboard province of Chon Buri. They include Pin Thong Industrial Estate Projects 4 and 5, and the Hemaraj Eastern Seaboard Industrial Estate Projects 2 and 3.
The fifth project is Hemaraj Rayong 36 Industrial Estate in Rayong province.
