Food delivery to home services pledge maximum hygiene to prevent COVID-19

BANGOK – The government has called a meeting with food delivery services, including Grab Food, KFC, Thailand Post, Kerry, and LINE Man, to ensure maximum hygiene measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19.



Prime Minister’s Office Minister Tewan Liptapallop, supervising the Consumer Protection Board, said that delivery services will be playing an important role during this period, when the public are being asked to stay at home to minimize possible transmission of COVID-19. Many more people are expected to use delivery services offered by restaurants and supermarkets.

The meeting addressed hygiene and precautionary measures to prevent possible transmission of the virus from vendors and delivery workers to the customer, and vice versa.

17 delivery services have signed a declaration that they will comply with the hygiene and preventive measures, requiring delivery workers to wear protective gloves, masks and collect payment via the vending application.

Minister Tewan said service providers who fail to comply with these measures will be dealt with in accordance with consumer protection requirements. (NNT)
