BANGKOK, 3 July 2012 – The Government Lottery Office (GLO) is preparing to push forward the online lottery project in order to develop the Thai lottery system in preparation for the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC).
On his first day of duty as GLO Director, Police Major General Atthakrit Thareechat delivered his policy to GLO executives and officials. On this occasion, he declared that the online lottery project will be continued in an effort to upgrade the country’s lottery system and at the same time to prepare for the upcoming establishment of the AEC in 2015.
The Director also expressed his readiness to fix the problem of overpriced and counterfeit lottery tickets for the protection of buyers. He said the lottery systems of other countries will also be studied in order for Thailand to improve its own system effectively.
