BANGKOK, 14 August 2015 – The private sector has estimated this year’s Thai International Travel Fair (TITF) will generate around 300 million baht, while expecting the global economic slowdown to cause outbound tourism to drop.
The Thai Travel Agents Association (TTAA) is hosting the TITF fair between August 13 and 16 at the Queen Sirikit Convention Center. This year’s fair features over 600 product booths, attracting over 200,000 visitors with an estimated 300 million baht in transactions.
The TTAA has forecast a slowdown in outbound tourism due to the underperforming global economy. Therefore, the association expects a corresponding increase in domestic tourism. The TTAA forecast that the number of tourists in Thailand this year to grow by 7-10 percent.
