CHACHOENGSAO, 31 MARCH 2013 The government plans to develop green industrial areas in a number of central provinces to support the growth of Suvarnabhumi Airport.

Government Spokesman Tossaporn Serirak made public that Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra said during the cabinet meeting that the government will initiate plans to turn provinces near Suvarnabhumi Airport to be homes to green and environmentally-friendly industries.

Mr. Tossaporn stated that the ambition was derived after the PM made visits to related provinces before the mobile Cabinet meeting on Sunday.

He said the meeting initially agreed to designate Chachoengsao Province a center of transportation while making Nakhon Nayok the production base for quality agricultural products for exports, with focus on food safety.

The government spokesperson added that Sa Kaeo Province will be encouraged to further develop border economics due to its vicinity to Cambodia and Vietnam, while the government will promote Thai traditional medicine and herbal treatments in Prachin Buri Province.
