BANGKOK, 16 July 2014 – The Ministry of Industry and the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) is to set up committees with the aim of coordinating with the public sector more closely and efficiently.

The four committees will integrally work to facilitate investment in Thailand, said Mr. Witoon Simachokedee after a meeting with the President of the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI)

The meeting is being held monthly to decide on measures and set up the committees; the policy is in line with that of the National Council for Peace and Order (NCPO)

The committees will implement measures that focus on a number of points, namely enhancing the speed of the license application process e.g. factory operating licenses and permits for factory operation; setting up a one stop service center for entrepreneurs and new enterprises, to follow up the process of documentation, while encouraging factories to act on concerns about industrial waste and pollution; enhancing industrial competitiveness; promoting SMEs, and adopting an anti-corruption campaign.
