Local administrators from across Thailand met in Pattaya for training to win Environmental Health Accreditation.

The Health Ministry symposium at the Ambassador City Hotel July 10-12 saw sub-district level civil servants exchange knowledge and learn the standards needed to achieve Environmental Health Accreditation (EHA).

Danai Teewanda, deputy director-general at the Department of Health, explained that EHA is part of the second National Environmental Health Strategic Plan jointly developed by the Health, Natural Resources and Environment, and Interior ministries.

From 2014 to 2017, 2,680 local administration organizations attained Environmental Health Accreditation, as well as 1,032 municipalities. 392 local administration organizations achieved a certified level while 576 local administration organizations achieved the basic level.

Many more municipalities have yet to apply.
