Lanna Expo 2018 kicked off this week in Chiang Mai for the upper northern provinces to promote the region’s trade and investment.
Upper Northern Region Group One, including Chiang Mai, Lampun, Lampang, and Mae Hong Son, will hold Lanna Expo 2018 from 22 June to 1 July 2018 at the International Conference Center in Chiang Mai to promote trade and investment as well as support the investment cycle which contributes to an economic growth.
Chiang Mai Provincial Governor Pawin Chamniprasert said the event will be held under the “Arts of Lanna for the Thai Values” theme, featuring 11 activity zones showcasing food, goods, and other items.
The event will feature the Northern Thailand Food Valley zone showcasing agricultural products and food, OTOP & SMEs zone showcasing the goods from the region, tourism zone promoting community based tourism, international zone featuring the exchange of cultures from 15 countries, Health & Beauty zone showcasing health exhibitions and healthcare services in modern and traditional Thai styles, technology and innovations zone, ECO Village & ECO School zone, Royal Project zone showcasing projects from the royal initiations, fresh produce zone, investment zone featuring exhibition on innovations and halal food, and the cultural zone showcasing local cultures and performances.
Lanna Expo was first held in 2014, with last year’s event seeing an attendance of some 426,000 people, generating some 57.7 million baht in revenue.
