Digital centers in various communities across Thailand have been tasked with introducing new technologies to agriculture and tourism.
Speaking at a workshop on the enhancement of community digital centers, Uttama Savanayana, the Minister of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), called on all digital centers throughout the nation to adapt their role and approach, saying local people, especially agriculturists and tourism operators, should familiarize themselves with today’s technologies and the advancement of sustainable innovations.
He said the centers must play a major role in mobilizing local economies and turning communities into digital platforms, adding that every home should have access to the internet in a bid to prepare it and the family within, for the emerging digital era, in accordance with the government’s Thailand 4.0 policy.
He also instructed the centers to create a database for ICT-related information so as to allow the government to provide proper assistance to the people.
