BANGKOK, 27 June 2014 – The Office of the Rubber Replanting Aid Fund (ORRAF) is under the process of finding measures to lower the cost of rubber production to alleviate the plight of rubber farmers.

The ORRAF is also planning a long-term plan in switching to plant a new type of rubber seed to increase more rubber produce per rai.

Permanent-Secretary for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mr. Chaowalit Chookajorn said according to the ORRAF and its plans to help save production cost for rubber planters, trainings will be held to give beneficial and useful information. They will also be forming specialized groups to help each other make the best use of the rubber produce and planting equipment.

A the same time, necessity products for manufacturing will also be provided as well to teach planters how to make their own organic fertilizer and to encourage them to run more than one business while waiting for their rubber to be ready for harvest.
