BANGKOK, 23 September 2014 The Minister for Tourism and Sports Kobkarn Wattanavrangkul is to visit Ko Tao and meet with local tourism entrepreneurs in order to restore the good image of the island.
Suwat Sidthilaw, the Permanent-Secretary of Tourism and Sports, has revealed that it is important to regain tourists’ confidence since the European tourists are major market, especially from England. Moreover, it is planned to set up a police station or tourist administration center as well as to offer safety instructions to foreign tourists.
Separately, Juthaporn Rerngronasa, the Deputy Governor for International Marketing (European, African and Middle East Marketing), has assigned the TAT, London Branch to monitor the market and survey 14 major tour agencies.
It was found that the murder case had not greatly affected their decision makings or plans to travel to Ko Tao and Ko Pa-ngan.
