Ministry of Commerce launches ‘Southern Fresh Fruit Fair’ at Central Plaza Ratanatibet

NONTABURI, 31 July 2014 – The Ministry of Commerce (MOC) has launched the ‘Southern Fresh Fruit Fair’ at the Central Plaza Ratanatibet, Nonthaburi Province. The produce includes durians, rambutans, Kluai Leb Mu Nang, bananas and langsats from Surat Thani, Ranong, Narathiwat and Yala. The fair, taking place from July 31st to August 4th, aims to help southern fruit growers as they have been facing low prices most years. MOC therefore assists them to release any oversupply in Bangkok and other areas popular with tourists as well as to connect crop yields to big shopping centers. In addition, consumers gain access to quality fruit at fair prices.
