BANGKOK, 6 May 2011  – The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives is gearing up to organize the Community Enterprise Product Expo during 12-15 May in an effort to generate more income for community enterprises.

During a press conference on the arrangement of the upcoming Community Enterprise Product Expo, Agriculture and Cooperatives Minister Theera Wongsamut announced that the event would take place during 12-15 May at Future Park Rangsit Shopping Complex.

The main goal is to give community enterprises an opportunity to sell their products directly to consumers without involving middlemen while encouraging the entrepreneurs to take charge of managing their own products, which will lead to more bargaining power, higher earnings, career stability and better life quality. It will also help stimulate the economy at the community level and promote self sufficiency.

Meanwhile, Director-General of the Department of Agricultural Extension At Inthalak elaborated that the expo would feature up to 200 booths of community enterprises with quality products on display. The products will be divided into four categories, which are food and processed products, fashion and clothing, arts and handicrafts, and herbal products.
