BANGKOK, 24 September 2013 – Many owners of homes and factories turned up at the electricity authorities’ offices on Monday, the first day of registration for the solar PV rooftop electricity sale scheme.
A total of 2,084 people filed for registration at the offices of the Metropolitan Electricity Authority and the Provincial Electricity Authority in Greater Bangkok. 1,154 of the filings were made for commercial buildings and 930 filings were made for residential buildings.
According to the Energy Regulatory Commission, turnout from the business sector has reached the targeted level, but there was little interest from home owners.
Interested building owners can register for the rooftop solar electricity sale project from now until October 11.
