BANGKOK, 5 August 2013 The Deputy Commerce Minister said he believed the political situation will not be prolonged nor will it escalate to violence.
Deputy Commerce Minister Nattawut Saigua said businesses have no concern about the political rally even though, he added, they hoped for a peaceful protest. According to Mr. Nattawut, the government has promised there will be no use of force or violence during the rally.
He also downplayed public concern for violence, citing his belief that everyone will be able to reconcile their differences and that no violence will be instigated. Prime Minister Yingluck has set up a panel where everyone is invited to propose solutions to the conflicts.
Meanwhile, he said the Thai economy is moving in the positive direction as the Department of Business Development has already addressed the issues hampering trade growth and developed assisting measures to help various industries to stay productive in a bid to keep the economy alive during the latter half of this year.
