NCPO believes Thai economy will expand 2.5 %

BANGKOK, 8 July 2014  — Mr. Akhom Termpittayapaisith, the Secretary General of the National Economic and Social Development Board, reported that confidence of consumers and investors has begun to pick up which is considered a good sign. However, moving forward, the health of the economy partly depends on the NCPO policy. It is expected that this year the Thai economy is likely to grow by 1.5-2.5 percent.

The NCPO wishes to accelerate government and state enterprise spending. The Bureau of the Budget confirmed that the preparation of the budget for 2015 fiscal year will be completed as scheduled on September 30th and will certainly be effective on October 1st.
