BANGKOK, 17 September 2013 The Electronic Transactions Development Agency (ETDA) will soon establish a center to monitor online trading, in its bid to mitigate a rising number of online frauds.

According to the ETDA, a majority of the frauds are mismatched items and a lack of post purchase customer service and insurance.

The agency described the soon-to-be-established center as a one stop service center, receiving complaints, processing them and providing solutions as the center’s main roles.

The ETDA believed that the center would provide additional level of online trading safety insurance.

Meanwhile, Thai E-Commerce Association Secretary General Somkiat Chaisuparangkul revealed that at present the nation’s value of online trading stands at 300 Billion baht annually.

He pointed out that the figure could have been much higher without the ongoing issues of online frauds.
