Pattaya rolled out its Bollywood walk of fame to entice Indian film producers to make more movies in Thailand.
Deputy Mayor Poramet Ngampichet joined Pattaya Business & Tourism Association President Ekasit Ngampichet and Tourism Authority of Thailand Pattaya office director Pinnarch Chalernpol in welcoming a group of Bollywood film producers and directors who came to Pattaya with Pimpingfah Chokrapinpat Araya, deputy director of TAT’s Mumbai office.
The Thailand Bollywood Film Mission to Thailand allowed producers to meet with their counterparts in the Thai film industry and the owners of tourist attractions that could serve as backdrops for Indian movies.
The Thais hoped to demonstrate their potential and readiness to offer film locations with cultural identities and diversity, as well as show off the Thai movie industry’s professionalism and government support.
Pattaya already has played host to countless movies from India, whose film industry is growing at a 10 percent annual clip and expects to gross US$3.7 billion in revenue in 2020.
