The region’s top tourism officials pitched Pattaya as the perfect winter getaway to tour operators from the Baltic States.
Deputy Poramet Ngampichet and Tourism Authority of Pattaya Director Pinnart Charoenpol joined city and Chonburi tourism officials in greeting the 13 tour operators from the Association Estonian Travel Agencies at city hall Nov. 7.
The meeting was organized by Rujirat Chatchalermkit, regional director for TAT’s Europe, Africa, and Middle East region and TAT’s Sweden office.
Local officials gave presentations on the many tourism attractions and accommodation options in Pattaya, Chonburi and Rayong before opening the floor to Thai tour guides and attraction operators for a travel market.
The tour operators from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania had the opportunity to contract with local agents for tours to take Baltic tourists around the Eastern Seaboard.
Pinnart said about 50,000 tourists from the Baltic region visited Thailand in 2017 with 45 percent of them coming from Estonia.
