BANGKOK, 18 June 2012 – The Prime minister has demanded that a committee be set up to supervise and implement the revenue building strategies for tourism industry
PM Yingluck Shinawatra said she wanted the committee to be involved in the implementation of the 5-point revenue building strategy for tourism and to report its progress within July 2, 2012
According to Miss Sansanee Nakpong, the Spokesperson of the OPM, the PM insisted that all related agencies appoint the board of directors to be responsible for the operation and implementation of the assigned 5-point strategy of increasing revenues for the tourism industry to 2 trillion baht in 5 years.
She added that the progress must be reported to Mr.Niwattumrong Boonsongpaisan, Minister of the OPM by June 2, 2012. In addition, PM stated that Thailand’s tourism websites needed to be improved and standardized in order for foreigners to conveniently access and correctly collect accurate information regarding Thailand’s places of interest as well as attracting foreign entrepreneurs to invest more in Thailand.
