BANGKOK, 24 April 2011 -Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva said the House dissolution would take place in the first week of May as expected while assuring that it would not affect the ASEAN Summit.

The Prime Minister said that once the Senate passed the 3 organic laws, they would be presented to the Constitution Court for consideration on 28 April 2011. He believed that the House dissolution would take place as promised. Following the dissolution the Election Commission of Thailand will then take charge of the election.

He added later that during the transition, as an interim Prime Minister, the ASEAN Summit would proceed as scheduled without any problem.
