BANGKOK, 3 October 2013 The Real Estate Information Center reports that the confidence index of real estate entrepreneurs in the third quarter of this year is still promising although it has decreased from the previous quarter due to the entrepreneurs’ concerns over the rising cost of production and the economic slowdown.

Director of the Real Estate Information Center Samma Keetasin said the Current Situation Index for the third quarter was 52.5, decreasing from 54.7 in the second quarter. The drop reflected real estate entrepreneurs’ concerns about sales, higher cost of production, the economic slowdown as well as flooding.

Nonetheless, Mr Samma noted that the index increased from 51.3 of the same period last year and the level of higher than 50 suggested that the entrepreneurs were still confident in the market’s growth potential.

The 6-month Expectations Index in the third quarter stood at 60.4, down from the previous quarter of 67.4 and the same quarter of 2012 of 69.6. Listed companies had higher index compared to the non-listed.
