With low season nearing its ebb and Thailand’s economy slogging along, second-hand markets are booming in Pattaya.
Huge crowds filled the Thepprasit Buffalo Market and Muang Jamlong Market June 29, with shoppers browsing the large selection of inexpensive used goods.
Many of the items for sale are four or five times cheaper than their new equivalents.
There are plenty of bargains to be had on second hand goods at the Thepprasit Buffalo and Muang Jamlong Markets.
Shoppers say second-hand items are not always bad, and they are affordable to many. Both markets offer a variety of items like shirts, trousers, shoes, electronic gadgets and more.
Even more popular are dishes, plates, glasses, used TVs, computers and household items.
From questioning the majority of residents, they say that buying second hand items is necessary for them because they have to be careful with their expenses.
Most products and items found in both markets are very much needed and are also affordable as well. The goods may be used, but the quality is not too bad and affordable for people who are living and working on a minimum wage.
Both markets are filled with locals as well as foreign tourists in the evenings and the numbers of second-hand vendors are starting to increase.
