BANGKOK, 25 September 2011 -The Kasikorn Research Center revealed that the SET index has tumbled to the lowest level during the first 7 months of this year due to concerns over the world economy.
According to the Research Center, the SET index was closed at 958.16 points, a decrease by 7.28% from last week. However, the trading value has increased by 17.21% to 26.4 billion THB.
The SET index had slightly increased in the middle of last week when buyers bought stocks hoping that their value would rise when the Fed meeting in the U.S. began.
However, due to concerns over the global economy, stocks have fallen to the lowest level in its 7 month trading period from the beginning of this year with energy stocks taking the biggest plunge. The Kasikorn Research Center forecast fluctuation in the SET index next week with the EU and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) being monitored
