Singapore PM: S’pore ready to strengthen partnership with Thailand

CHINA, 17 September 2014 – Singapore is looking forward to an official visit by the Thai prime minister in the future and agrees to strengthen strategic partnerships with the Kingdom in all areas including trade and investment both bilateral and regional, according to the Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong.

The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Thanasak Patimaprakorn met the Prime Minister of Singapore during their attendance at the 11th China – ASEAN Expo, being held in Nanning, the capital city of Guangxi from September 15th to 20th.

Meanwhile, Gen Thanasak has confirmed the government’s commitment to following the roadmap to real democracy. In addition, he has expressed Thailand’s readiness to continue the great relationship with Singapore. Correspondingly, Mr Lee noted that the participation of ASEAN nations in the Guangxi Expo signaled the unity of ASEAN members and their presence on the global stage.
