KRABI, May 15 – Over 1,000 oil palm and rubber planters rallied at the provincial hall in this southern province Tuesday setting a 30-day deadline for the government to pledge to support prices of agricultural produce.
They submitted a letter to the provincial governor, calling for price guarantee for oil palm at Bt5/kg and rubber at Bt120/kg.
They said the prices for agricultural produce have declined sharply.
The planters arrived at the provincial hall in three palm-loaded trucks and continued their demonstration amid tight security.
