Surapong meets Guangxi Zhuang governor, invited to China-ASEAN expo

BANGKOK, 12 July 2013 China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region governor Cheun Woo paid a courtesy call on Thai Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul and invited him to the China-ASEAN expo 2013 which will be held in the southern Chinese region in September. 

At the discussion, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Surapong Tovichakchaikul welcomed Mr. Cheun Woo and assured him of the strong bilateral relationship between Thailand and China. He expressed his confidence that Thailand would provide a link between China and ASEAN nations, adding that China and ASEAN have had 10 years of strategic relationship.

Mr. Cheun Woo, on his part, invited the Thai foreign minister to the China-ASEAN expo 2013 scheduled to be held in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region’s capital of Naning in September.

Bilateral trade between Thailand and China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was 12 billion baht worth last year. Currently, more than 200 Thai businessmen are investing in Guangxi.
