BANGKOK, 16 August 2013 Chairman of the Thai Chamber of Commerce Issara Wongkusolkit expressed his agreement with the government’s 2-trillion-baht infrastructure investment, particularly the construction of the double track railway.
Mr. Issara said the construction of double track railway should be expedited as soon as possible as it will provide convenience for the transport of products across the country.
He added that the government should adopt a friendlier system for small and medium sized business owners to support their growth. Mr. Issara emphasized the need for better tax and import-export systems for SMEs as they are currently too complex.
However, he said regarding the ASEAN community that the Thai SMEs are more equipped and prepared to compete on a regional level than any others.
