BANGKOK, Apr 17 – The volatile global gold market forced the Thailand Futures Exchange (TFEX) to suspend trading of gold and silver futures for 30 minutes this morning.

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) made the decision according to SET regulations to cease trading from 9.45 am to 10.15 am and announced 10.05 am-10.15 am as a pre-opening period.

It said the brief suspension was due to a 10 per cent change of gold value from the latest settlement price.

The TFEX will lift the daily price limits of gold futures and silver futures from +/- 10 per cent to the maximum of +/- 20 per cent of the latest settlement price while the ceiling and floor prices of gold and silver futures will move at no higher than +/- 20 per cent, the SET announced.
