Thailand expects to see $1 billion trade with Poland in 5 years

BANGKOK, 7 July 2013 Thailand expects to increase trade with Poland to 1 billion US dollars within 5 years’ time after ties of both countries have been strengthened following Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra’s visit to Poland. 

Miss Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister and Defense Minister of Thailand, said her visit to Poland was to strengthen ties between the two countries, especially in the area of trade and investment. She said Poland is the right choice for Thailand to penetrate Eastern Europe as the country is a gateway to 7 other European countries.

She added that Thailand and Poland have been on good terms, while her visit would further promote Thai products in Poland. The Thai Premier said Poland had asked Thai entrepreneurs to open up more Thai restaurants to help boost Poland’s tourism industry. Other agreements between both countries include cooperation on energy businesses and water management project.

Finally, the Thai Premier said she expects to see at least 1 billion US dollars in trade between both countries within the next 5 years.
